that you might find interesting in and about the Redwood Area. Alexander Ramsey Park is the largest
municipal park in Minnesota. The park spans 217 acres with vast
features that have something for everyone! At the Lower Sioux Agency you can learn about
Dakota culture, unravel the causes of the war of 1862and more! The
Agency was a busy village and a center for yearly distribution of
money and goods owed to the Dakota. Always wondered about what an Alpaca
looks, smells & feels like? Here's your chance to let one eat
out of your hand! Between Redwood Falls and Morgan on Hwy 67 there's
a farm that raises these interesting animals (who are members of the
camel family) from the mountains of South America. To visit, please

built in 1882 by Charles Duncan Gilfillan, it's now owned by the
Redwood County Historical Society to preserve the rich history
within it's walls. Learn more about the battle of 1862 by visiting the Birch Coulee Battlefield. Take a
self-guided tour, learn from trail signs and read stories that guide
you through the 36 hour seige. At Fort Ridgely you can discover the stories
of people who lived and worked in the Civil War-era fort on the
Minnesota frontier. Learn why the fort was attacked twice by the
Dakota, and check out the reconstructed foundations outside. The Redwood County Museum is available for tours
Memorial Day thru Labor Day each year from 1-4 pm on weekends, and
