Girl Scout Cookies® 2008

The door-to-door Cookie Program Activity will be from January 19 to March 16, 2008. Delivery of cookies will be from February 29 to March 30. In addition, direct-sales through cookie booths set up at community businesses well be held from February 29 to march 30.

It's a historic time in Girl Scouts. Councils across the country are realigning and re-energizing to meet the challenges and needs of a new generation of Girl Scouts. Girls are learning first-hand how to discover, connect, and take action in the world around them and our communities are excited to benefit from their leadership and community service. It's a great time to be a Girl Scout!

Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys (formerly the Girl Scout Councils of Cannon Valley, Greater Minneapolis, Peacepipe, River Trails, and St. Croix Valley) will serve approximately 51,000 girls in 49 counties in southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Girl Scout staff members are working closely with volunteers to make sure that all Girl Scout activities, including the Girl Scout Cookie Program Activity, builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Girls, volunteers, and families might notice some changes to the 2008 Girl Scout Cookie Program Activity as we continue to work together to move to one integrated activity in 2009 and 2010. This year will be a hybrid activity, with several consistent components across all five service center areas (formerly councils), including:

  • One cookie baker, Little Brownie Bakers, with the same cookie varieties.
  • Cookie Go Day is Saturday, January 19, 2008.
  • Cookie selling periods, delivery dates, and cookie booth dates are the same.
  • Cookies are $3.50 per package.
  • Girl recognitions are similar at key package levels, including a special 500-package Club and celebration event.
  • Girls can still earn Cookie Credits (formerly called Cookie Dough) at specific package levels.
  • A new tiered troop cookie proceeds structure, based on the service center's troop cookie proceeds from last year.

We appreciate your continued support of your Girl Scout and her involvement in the annual Cookie Program Activity. Please contact the Product Sales Specialist at 800-332-4475 or by email at kima@girlscoutsppc.org with any questions.
